About Us

Esperanza Community Collegial Academy, an Arizona nonprofit organization, was incorporated in March 2003 to educate students in grades nine through twelve. Esperanza contracted with the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools in the spring of 2004 to operate a tuition free alternative educational institution for students and parents in the Paradise Valley area of northeast Phoenix. Esperanza also applied for and received an Employer’s Identification Number (EIN), IRS 501(c)(3) status, and certification as an Arizona Charitable Organization. After a planning year financed through a U.S. Department of Education Charter School Program grant, and an NCLR Charter School Network grant, Esperanza opened its doors in the fall of 2005.
